Daycare Outreach
The Avoca Public Library is proud to partner with area daycares to bring books into the lives of your little ones. We've tailored our programs to several different providers, depending on availability, ages, and curriculum. Here is just a sample of what we can do for your daycare:
- Book Swap: We bring a bag o' books (roughly 15-20 titles) checked out to the daycare provider, which your kids can peruse for a couple of weeks or a month, and then we come back to pick it up and drop off another.
- Story Time: We would bring two to three themed books to read and discuss with your kids.
- Craft Time: We can bring a small craft or activity to work on with your kids during an approximately 30-minute visit.
- Take-and-Make: We would drop off a small craft or activity for you to complete with your kids or for your kids to work on while you're prepping, cleaning, etc.
- Baby Bounce: This program consists of an interactive "bounce" where each adult holds a baby on their knees and gently bounces them to the rhythm of a rhyme, helping the babies get more out of a story than words and pictures alone.
